Pinto Car Club of America

Well..., since yesterday was the application deadline (April 6th) for Knott's I guess it's time to start this post.

Try as I might I just couldn't get my '73, Turbo Pinto, Wagon dialed in.  I thought replacing the head (old one had a burnt valve) might correct many of the driveability issues.  However, that was not the case.

Being that I lost my job of 30 years in January  I can't be dropping a $50 this and a $100 that to solve the mystery.  And regardless of 'codes' these computer controlled cars can be just that, - a mystery.

Unfortunately Pick A Part is having a 50% off sale about a week too late.  I was going to stock up on possible solution parts for pennies on the dollar.  As things typically go I'm sure the car will be running decent by April 19th.  But Knott's offers no "drive ins" on the day of the event.

So, here's to next year.  I'll still try and come, but it will be by Mazda parked at Sears, not Pinto parked at Knott's.

I'm not going only because I'm in Omaha, the Pinto is in Iowa and it's in a octillion pieces.

But I'm hoping to get it together enough to be in only a septillion pieces by next week.  ::)
