I'm scanning them onto the computer right now. They came out really well!
Took them with my Canon AE-1 Program using Ilford Delta 200 film.
Coming soon to a thread near you! :)
Waiting patiently for a pic!!! ;D
Alrighty, here we go! They are not all perfect, but I am not a professional photographer, still learning to shoot exceptional shots with a 35mm, and this is only my second time ever using Black and White film! If anyone wants me to email them the high resolution scans, PM me.
The photos look a world better on paper, and I tried to color balance them the best I could using Photoshop. They are, at least, presentable.
These four were taken in front of my parents house about two hours after washing the car. It was an overcast day for the most part. Not much sun that day, thus why pictures two is dark. I do like how the chrome accents pop out in that photo though!
Once again, the black and white picks up the chrome accents on the interior very nicely. It gives the car that "new car in a brochure" look, almost.
The last photo is of an old co-worker of mine. One of the stores I was stationed at with McDonalds is our hang out spot where we all congregate! :P
The first photo here is of two of my best friends (also former co-workers). Everyone else wanted photos with the Pinto, but I didn't have much film and wanted to save some shots for the car after it was washed (first few photos).
The second photo here was not enlarged correctly, they did it backwards. I had to use photo shop to flip the image.
The last two are some of my favorite shots ever taken. The emblem reflected light nicely and gives the car that nice refreshing accent. 8)
You may notice that in some of the last pictures the side mirror is a chrome one. This is because I shot those photos last summer before changing the mirrors to sport mirrors. At times I regret doing that, but in the end, I do enjoy the sleek appearance the sport mirrors give.
So, what do you guys and gals think? Should I continue shooting with black and white, or stick to color? This black and white stuff is expensive though. It cost me $4.86 to have the film processed, then another $12.86 for 22 4x6 enlargements. The roll of film cost me about $5.60 a couple years ago. Definitely not a cheap hobby to have....
Black and white photos definitely have their merits but between the two I like color best.
I think they all came out quite well!!!! I really like the last pic of the Pinto Emblem too!!!!
As far as shooting in B&W, I would do it just as a once in a while hobby if the cost is kinda high!!! :)
I agree to some point blupinto. Color photography can be just as nice as black and white though. Lighting and angle is key for black and white to compare to color though.
pintogirl, I do color photography primarily. I pull out a roll of black and white once or twice a year when I feel that my skills have improved to a point that the quality of the shots will be noticeably better between the latest photos and the previous ones.
Still looking for that great location for a photo shoot of my car. Been thinking of a wide open space or desert location. Maybe the grand canyon?
Black and white photography is an art form. It takes a good eye, good film and a good camera (and lots of patience!) to take great b&w photos. I think yours are good Dave. I prefer color just because I love colors. B&W photos capture what color photography sometimes can't, so I'm very down with both.
Speaking of pictures Dave... do you have a keychain pic handy? ;)
I have been thinking of that keychain every time I pull my keys out. I have no batteries for my digicam and my phone camera can't get anything clear enough. I'll try to get some batteries for my trip to Utah on Monday and I'll get some pictures for you.
I dig the b&w's. It's like looking through the old car mags, kinda 'ages' the photo.
Where in Utah are you going? You know New Mexico touches Utah. :)
Chuck :afro:
about 50 miles outside of salt lake. I can't recall the town right now. Going there for a couple days to see my counselor.
That doesn't sound like much fun :-\ (I take it you're not referring to a 'camp counselor' :look:
I'm about 3-4 hours from the corner that touches Utah (the southeast corner of Utah, norwest corner of New Mexico). There's some good scenery around there, don't forget your camera!

Unfortunately not. My life is so wild right now that I just need to get out of Idaho for a bit and talk with him to clear my head and get some things figured out.
