You know your doing serious 73 Pinto work when your using tools like this. Fred :)
:surprised: nice. what are you doing to the 73 that would require those?
Fred: Hey!!! that scares me :o, I feel like I'm at the dentist office. lol Larry :police:

Tank installed showing access door and red fill cap. Fred :)
Better make sure that foam is in good shape and isn't deteriorating and flaking off. Even a high performance in-line fuel filter can stop that stuff from causing a pain in the rear in the fuel system. Talking from experience, just a heads up Fred. :)

Thanks Casey I have had my hand in there but I better double check that foam. Fred :)
Going to be installing clutch actuation unit on left wheel well. Existing clutch cable attaches to this unit. Fred ???
Just got the 73 running for Knott's. Now if I can only find a clutch slave hose that would be good. No fun starting in gear. Fred ;D :)

Stripping getting ready to paint. Fred :-\
Thanks for putting the last two pictures up. I am putting a front and rear valance on my 78. The front shot show the difference in the radiator support.
Fred are you giving her the same color she was born with? Seeing her at Knotts, I thought in her youth she must've been beautiful...

Nasty looking after acid bath. Car had vynle top so I needed to remove rust. Fred :)
What Runabout is this!?
Hi Becky that's the 1 from Knott's the 73. Fred :)
Is that rust around the hatch or was the '73 Saddle Bronze Metallic too? The vinylyop look(ed) black or dark brown. It sure doesn't look like the Knotts Runabout. Wasn't that faded blue w/ white vinyl-top?

Yah it "was" and is that car! He did an acid bath on the roof to be able to fix rust issues!! ;D The acid makes it look black!
That's light rust I can sand out. I have a thick light grey primer that I will be squirting on the roof. Fred :)
I learn something every day. ???

This aluminum bumper is going on to my red 78. I will do 1 more polish by hand. Fred :)
I gave the guy the same #s from old can. I painted the 71 about 5 or 6 year's ago. That head light bezel from 71 looks darker than the new 73 car paint I sprayed yesterday. I am bummed that paint cost me $280.00 so what I want to know can some 1 tell me with age will it darken ? This 73 needs to match the 71. Fred :'(
Wow, Fred... it's hard to say, but I've been around automotive paints for many years and I've never heard of one darkening with age after it has been applied to the car! Anybody else want to chime in here?
Dwayne
Bad mix? Take the the repainted part and an existing part to your jobber if possible and show him the problem. Usually they are more than willing to help solve the problem. My jobber will supply new product if they screwed up, but you are out your labor.
Also in the last 5-6 years formulas and base materials most likely have changed due to EPA regs.
Slowly coming together. Fred :)
Fred, from what I can see it doesn't look half-bad! ;D You amaze me!
Installing the six CD changer using aircraft cherry max rivets. Need serious power tool's to steal this changer. Notice spacer on drill bit, don't want to drill a hole in the foam filled dragster tank. Fred :)
Man that is looking great!
