Better make sure that foam is in good shape and isn't deteriorating and flaking off. Even a high performance in-line fuel filter can stop that stuff from causing a pain in the rear in the fuel system. Talking from experience, just a heads up Fred.  :)

Is that rust around the hatch or was the '73 Saddle Bronze Metallic too? The vinylyop look(ed) black or dark brown. It sure doesn't look like the Knotts Runabout. Wasn't that faded blue w/ white vinyl-top?

Yah it "was" and is that car! He did an acid bath on the roof to be able to fix rust issues!!  ;D The acid makes it look black!

That's light rust I can sand out. I have a thick light grey primer that I will be squirting on the roof.  Fred   :)

I gave the guy the same #s from old can. I painted the 71 about 5 or 6 year's ago. That head light bezel from 71 looks darker than the new 73 car paint I sprayed yesterday. I am bummed that paint cost me $280.00 so what I want to know can some 1 tell me with age will it darken ? This 73 needs to match the 71.  Fred   :'(

Wow, Fred... it's hard to say, but I've been around automotive paints for many years and I've never heard of one darkening with age after it has been applied to the car!  Anybody else want to chime in here?

Dwayne

Bad mix? Take the the repainted part and an existing part to your jobber if possible and show him the problem. Usually they are more than willing to help solve the problem. My jobber will supply new product if they screwed up, but you are out your labor.
Also in the last 5-6 years formulas and base materials most likely have changed due to EPA regs.

Installing the six CD changer using aircraft cherry max rivets. Need serious power tool's to steal this changer. Notice spacer on drill bit, don't want to drill a hole in the foam filled dragster tank.  Fred   :)
