The only major thing I really don't like about the '79-80 models is the bumpers. They are big enough to set on and the bumper guards don't look good to me. In addition, my bumpers are in fair shape and the rubber has big rusty screws through some of them and could used to be replaced. I'm pretty sure this is a wishfully thought out question but here goes:
1. There aren't any plain aluminum bumpers for the '79-80 Pintos, correct?
2. Can you interchange bumpers from any other generation to fit the '79-80?
Thanks for the help.

74 to 78 will fit just fine.
they will fit but are shaped different. The 79 80 are a v shape and all the rest go straight on the ends so while it will fit it will line up a little off.
That what I was thinking. I looked at my '78 and '79 and it looked like they would interchange but the '78 has curvy lines and the '79 has a boxy front end. Thanks for the help.

I was wondering the same thing about My '76 hoping I could fit the earlier (thinner) bumpers on it.
On closer inspection it seems the panels below the Bumpers are different ( or non-existent in this case).
I'm briefly thought about fashioning new panels, but my conscious got to me, not wanting to alter the car to much.
the early bumpers and pans can be modified to fit on your 74-78. but like it was said earlier, the 79 and 80 were boxy and the bumper wouldnt contor to the body right.
