I have a '71 2-liter with a stock pan and tube. I need a dipstick. I have a Jeep dipstick that will fit but it is too long. Is there anyone in the Denver area who has one that I can measure? Can anyone shoot me a pic of one with a good tape measure next to it? I can cut and re-mark the Jeep one to fit my motor. Is there a supplier that sells these? (The Ford dealers just hang up when I ask.)
The dealer hung up on you too? "A what? How long have you had that problem?"-my last experience.
I have a 2.3, otherwise I would try to help, but I feel for you, the dealer here doesn't even acknowledge that the car existed, and they sold it new. The last time I went to the parts department (to buy the last of the Ford keys they had) they looked at the Pinto like it was a go-kart I built in my yard out of spare parts.:surprised: They weren't amused, though.
We're all in this together!
Chuck
P.S. I'm in Albuquerque, is there much Pinto interest in Denver? I'm all alone here :'(
I didn't even get a reply. "I'm looking for a dipstick for a '71 Pinto - click!" Happened at two dealers. Actually, my avatar is my pinto. 2.0 facing backwards on a VW tranny w/ Esslinger's adaptor. I have seen a couple of early Pintos around Denver this winter, though. One red, one powder blue.
Ok, I have a 72 Pinto with a 2.0 stock motor. Here are my pics, hope they help!! Hope you wanted the oil dipstick!!!

Those Pinto-powered sand rails are freakin' awesome! Shoot us some pics! We wanna see! :surprised:
My kids getting ready to go. Fred :o
That is one sweet sandrail! There are a few other Pinto-powered vehicles here if you look. My brother has a VW bus, and I keep pestering him to put a Pinto motor in that (remember the "Pinto Beans" ads in Hot VWs?). I'll bet that's a blast on the dunes. We have an offroad area here with lots of hills and trails just south of town, on top of being in the middle of the desert with quite a bit of open space outside town. I want a buggy too!
I dig your mask! Was the pic taken at Halloween, or is that part of your daily routine?
Chuck :afro:

Thanks. How did you get 400k of pics in one posting? It cuts me off at 100k.
My 3 year old on her first sandrail trip. Does she look like she's enjoying it?

I'll take it. Thanks.
Old pic of my wife before I upgraded the suspension and carb. Ok, that sounded wrong. The wife is driving, the rail got the upgrades.
Chuck, That's our winter look to keep our faces warm. :amazed: We get this kind of looks from people. Fred
