Title: Anybody know the answer to this transmission problem
Post by: lefty on March 11, 2009, 10:15:16 PM
Have a 1977 C3 transmission-flex plate cracked-went to replace the flex plate and all that the books calls for will not fit my torque converter--bolt holes are off--I have tried three different flex plates from O'Reilly Auto and one from Auto Zone--non of them fit.  Any ideas of how to tackle this problem?

Lefty ;D

Yes it's a c3 has a three lug torque converter )three bolts) and the pan bolt count is 13 not the 11 on a c4

www.napaonline.com shows for a '77 C3 (presumed 2.3l):
