As they say in the Late Show or the $100 Matinee, "The experiment was a failure." And even reversing the polarity is not going to fix it.
Here is my attempt to put a cup holder in a Pinto. I got tripped up by unforeseen conflicts of geometry. I'm a bit annoyed because I cut up a perfectly good Pinto bezel and a Taurus cup-holder to make this.
May try to salvage this project by seeing if I can move the pegs in the cup-holder so that it sticks out farther or else mount rocker switches in there.
looks like you need it to come out about and inch to an inch and a half. but i wish you the best of luck. I just plan on making a center console for the car, removing the MII one and adding a couple drink holders to it.
I just bought a wedgie!!! Works pretty good, but the Venti Iced *$ drinks are a bit loose. I hold on to them while going around sharp corners!!! Other then that it is great and cheap!! I got mine from Walmart, but found a link to what it looks like! http://www.saddlebags.com/Default.aspx?tabid=181 (http://www.saddlebags.com/Default.aspx?tabid=181)
Then there's the Blupinto Special. Fits your favorite brews from your favorite beanery or sodas from elsewhere. Assembly required. Note: Does not fit Slurpee (wide-bottomed 7-Eleven) cups. I tried! lol.
May have to check those out when I'm at Walmart.
Right now, I have my half-DIN, formerly full-DIN, cup holder back apart and ready to grind the two stops off and put a couple screws in farther back for new stops.
If that fails, will anybody sell me a radio bezel cheap out of pity? :P
Well, it was a good idea, even if the execution didn't live up to expectations. :D
I have a little console that holds cds/2 drinks/coins$crap that i keep behind the e-brake. It's a bit awkward, but works (taller drinks are tippy and trouble). I usually take it out of the car for pics.
I come across radio bezels pretty often, so if you need one, pm me first and see if I can help.
