Title: Pinto Magazine
Post by: FlyerPinto on March 10, 2009, 08:46:23 PM
For those of you who have signed on for the magazine, the first issue should be done and printed in a matter of a couple of weeks. I'm a little behind schedule and working out the bugs in the software program. Just wanted to let you know, and thanks a bunch. Look forward to hearing from you!

Yes, I would like to subscribe, too. I also plan to CONTRIBUTE - when I find the time, but in the meantime, I am in the same boat as these other guys.

Yes to everyone, the subscription address is the same as listed above just addressed to Pinto Times. The subscription cost is $32 per year (Hopefully there will be more than one!) for four issues, published quarterly. As the number of subscribers go up, I anticipate the cost will go down somewhat, but how much I can't say. I had originally planned on charging for classifieds, but seeing as there has been no response to that whatsoever, I figured to just do it for free or skip it entirely. What do you all think?

With classified ads only appearing once every three months I doubt that there would be much interest for subscribers with parts for sale but it would work well for suppliers who want to showcase their parts and services.  We all wish you the best of luck on this new exciting adventure.  We will be looking forward to the first issue.

Am I to late to subscribe and get the first issue??
Title: Re: Pinto Magazine

Not at all. I'm still cranking out a couple of things and there is still time. I wanted to have the first issue out by now but I would rather get it right and have it be late than to rush it out and have it be something we would all be embarrassed by. Just send a check and you'll be good. Thanks!

The address was right on, and I printed about ten extra copies of the first issue in case anyone wants to get one. Also, I can go back and have more printed without much trouble. I hope everyone likes the magazine, it's a little shorter than what I wanted, but I only had three folks who contributed anything and only one of those was an article. As a result, I did a lot of writing. Let me know what you think.

I am actually working on several articles. While I had hoped to be in the first issue, time got the best of me. I spent some time today on an article covering "Dash board removal/restoration", since I have already removed a dash from a donor car, plan to restore it, and then remove the one in my own car and replace it with the first one.

Can't wait to see the magazine.

Got my issue today! It is a wonderful magazine as it is, and still has much more potential to become even greater. I am brain storming to figure out some type of article to submit, but I know for sure that I will be submitting a story and picture of my car in the future! :) I'm sure Becky and Kim are planning that too though! ;)

Very nice how-to article, something I've been wanting to do to my car but wasn't sure if it had been done before!

Matthew,

I've been experiencing computer problems and haven't been online much over the past week or so but I wanted to let you know how thoroughly impressed I am with the first issue of Pinto Times.  You have done a marvelous job!  I hope everyone here will jump on the bandwagon and help you out with articles - you certainly had to do a lot of writing for that first issue.  I dashed off a short piece about my first Pinto this morning and will mail it out to you Monday.  If my writing meets your approval, I'll be glad to do more.  Thanks again for creating such a fine magazine.

I want to write a What I Found In My Pinto article. Can it be a print (the picture) or must it be digital? Do I need to write the story on paper or by 'puter?

You can do it either way. If you write by hand, please make sure it is neat so I can read it, and include contact information for you so I can get in touch with you if I have any questions. Looking forward to it.

There may well be a few copies of the first issue available.  I was late subscribing and there were still some then.  No word yet on when the second issue is coming out.
