It's like every V6 car I have seen has an auto trans in it.How many came with manual trannys? What models of transmissions were offered? C3-C4 Top loader?
None. In the Pinto, the v-6 became an option, but only with the automatic transmission. The same v-6 was available in the Mustang II, I don't know whether it was available with a manual or not though. It was also used in mid 70's Capris, but it was available with the manual transmission. If you're dead set on a v-6 with a manual transmission, you would have to find one of those cars for a donor.
Chuck
Chuck's right, I had asked the same question. The mustang 2 had manual. These are going to be rare and hard to find as I have found out. Another good V6 setup for you would be a 3.8 w/ manual 5peed from an 89 Thunderbird SC. Not only would it be a V6 but it would be able to be supercharged.
Thanks guys,I've thought about the S/C donor their cheap & plentiful ,also the 5.0/T5 combo even more so.
Carolina, Skunk that is what i am doing with my 75 bobcat. 1995 T-bird SC w Auto( G/f has to be able to drive her too) I will be using Forged internals to handle more boost. and am looking into Over driving the S/C by 30-40% or about 18 psi. Its not a cut and dry quick swap, there is still Fabrication, but it goes along the same lines as a 302 swap. Once I have the engine built and ready i will use a mock block I have so i dont mess up the new motor. Also quite a bit of wiring to do. I have the ECM and the Underhood harness for it as well. This will be a fun project but I am lacking time and Space to complete.
If you need one, I have the trans, flywheel, shifter but no bellhousing
