Hello Folks!
I pulled out the sending unit on my Pinto and the filter is no more. Is there a way to "make" a new filter for it til I can replace the sending unit?
someone sells them about 3.00 their for mustang II their the same the guys from PA his link is on this site some were hope this helps
Mine was missing from the sending unit as well when I pulled the tank to repair it. The NOS one I found had it intact.
Chris
ssc enterprises has them under offical links hear on the home page he doesent have them listed but if you email he 16 bucks apeice though he has new o rings and the rest of the stuff needed to put the gas tank back together right don,t want to take any chanses hear
Since this is an older style tank and pick-up unit I would think you could go to any better parts store (NAPA, Federated, Car-Quest etc,) and find one out of any "older" car that has a 3/16" pick-up tube and use it the same???? By the way it is called a "Fuel Sock" (in no way do I mean that in a derogatory manner).
When I re-lined my tank in my 80 Pinto Wagon mine was still in good shape so I re-used it, but it was just pressed on (with hand force) the pick-up tube.
Hope that can help.
