Title: a question on clutch cables...
Post by: HighHooder on September 17, 2004, 03:56:32 PM
seeing as how mine broke the ball off of the pedal end a couple of days ago I've had to do some serious searching for a "new" cable...  does anybody know if there is any difference between a '72 cable and say a '76 cable???

this really sucks :'( gas is WAY too expensive to use the 3/4-ton as a daily driver

You might want to try a local marina if you have any in your area. I had a replacement cable installed into my 72 Runabout clutch cable when I put a T-5 into it. Had to make it a couple inches longer that the original. They also made up a small piece that attaches right to the tranny. If I can get my e-brake cable apart, I'll be bringing that to them to. They can work with cable up to 5/16" Can't tell you what this has to do with boats, but it worked for me.

and the answer is... You can buy a BRAND NEW clutch cable for a '75 and up Pinto and it will fit either a 1.6 or a  2.0 ;D
