I spent some time in an upholstery shop. My boss was teaching me how to estimate before I had to slow down. He charges about $125-$150 per cushion, matched closely in vinyl or cloth. There is more cost involved for factory material (if you can find it). That's in New Mexico, may vary by state. I had a set of custom tailored slip on covers made (you can see them in my Gallery) by DashSavers, 7 piece set, one for each cushion, and it was $150 plus tax. So there's an alternative too.

A great upholstery shop in a neighboring city said they would do my two front seats for $300, that's for both. I want original center panels though, so I will end up ordering NOS vinyl from SMS Fabrics to have them done. It will be spendy, around $500 for the pair (since I'll be ordering special vinyl), but I think the originality of it will be well worth it, especially considering the history of the car.

250$ is what it will cost me for the fronts and 300 more for the rear seats. but they will not have a factory look. I hate Vinyl.

Thanks everybody, I was thinking $125 - $150 per seat, the sad part is these seats have less then 5,000 miles of seat time since they were done 25 years ago. I must have used something on the vinyl years ago that did not agree with it because the material now feels like it will crack and split everytime I sit in the seats. The car has been stored in a garage (and covered)that is pretty close to climate controled (virginia) never freezes and A/C during the summers.
I am getting ready to put back on the road this summer and believe it will be just a matter of time before the seats start to crack/split.
What type of chemicals(ex.armor all) do you use on your vinyl innterior parts?
Kevin

I don't use Armor all. I use a Maguires Upholstery cleaner. Or Mothers products if the Meguires isn't Available to me at the time. Armorall once you start using it you have to use it regularly or it will crack what ever you polished with it.

Cloth is my choice. Here we see temperatures below 20 in winter and up to 105 in summer and many fluctuations year round. Having a white car instead of a dark color helps too.

When I had the seats recovered years ago I had the center inserts done in a velour cloth material that made the seats much more comfortable. You didn't stick to the vinyl on the hot days. No A/C. When I get them redone they will be done the same way, I just hope they can match the vinyl color because my dash cap is done in the same material.
