Title: World of Wheels
Post by: 78squirewagon on February 17, 2009, 06:31:46 AM
Well, my little red squire wagon took home a 3rd place award in her class this past weekend at the Milwaukee World of Wheels. I decided that to finally go into competition since it might be the last year for the show here and won something. Now I will be honest and tell you that there was only three cars in the class but still, it's something  ;D  I must have pissed off the trophy gods because as soon as I got back to the car from the awards ceromony, a pipe started leaking water from the ceiling right dowm on top of my juggage rack. It was just water but still, I WAS INSIDE  ;D  We moved the car out of the way from the drip and enjoyed the rest of the weekend (Sunday)

It's nice to see that people still love the little cars after all of these years. Today I am taking it downtown to be in the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show for the next few days so that will be fun. I will post some pictures from there after March 1st

Congrats!!!! How exciting!! We entered a custom made limo into a car show once. In fact it was the AutoRama in Sacramento. The car was made by my Hubby and his friend. It was made out of a VW Jetta and Rabbit. It was one if a kind and the only thing like it at the show. So we won first place!! LOL It was exciting but at the same time, being the only one, we had to win!! LOL So third place out of 3 is pretty exciting!! You had 3 to compete with, so I think you did pretty darn good!!

Congrats again!!!! Good luck at the Auto Show, got get First Place!!!!!!  ;D

THANKS!!!!!  The car that took forst place in my class was a 1974 TA that is beyond beautiful. I compete against him all summer long and as soon as I saw him pull in, I knew I was beat  ;D  But WoW/Autorama is not about competing, it's about fun. I ran into some people that I had not seen in 10 years ;D
The Greater Milwaukee Auto Show is for new cars but our club (Losers Car Club of WI) got invited down. We are taking 20 of our cars and just showing them so there is no competition. One of them will be a custom VW that looks like a 1940 Ford Woody. we also have a 1994 Ford T-Bird that has a '40 front and rear clip mounted over the stock T-Bird body so that always turns heads. But people get a kick out of my wagon so I am looking forward to it. The people that go to WoW are there to see hot rods and such. The GMAS is for people looking to buy a new car and well, we are adding flavor to an otherwise bland event.
