Today Hubby and I spotted a early model white station wagon!! It turned in front of us onto Roseville Rd. Sac. CA!! This is only my second Pinto sighting in I don't know how long!!! This one had a modified hood. Didn't have a blower thing, but maybe a vent type thing, it went down insted of up!! There was an older gentlemen driving it!!
Ok, not that big of a deal, but I was excited!!! LOL I'm not alone!! LOL
Kim
It's gotten to the point that my whole family (including the 6 year old) get overjoyed at any Pinto sightings! I'll ask my sister-in-law if she still has the pics of the yellow wagon she spotted (cell phone shots) and see if I can post them.
Chuck
LOL, Hubby asked why I didn't take any pics with my Cell!! LOL I couldn't get it out fast enough!! LOL ;D
What a hoot. I have an early, white wagon. It has a modified hood. It is actually the '88 Turbo Coupe intercooler scoop that does go down - instead of up. I don't know if 51 (age) makes me an older gentleman, but I do have gray hair. My brother lives in Orangevale, in the general area stated.
But it was not me. I live 400 miles south in Thousand Oaks. As they say, close, but no cigar.
Tom
:o Hey, there's cameras in the cell phones now??????? :amazed:

Your Pinto is to clean. This Pinto was a bit beat up. Also the scoop thing was more toward the center of the hood, and was painted black. The guy good have been your age though!! Yes, he had grey hair. Don't take offense though, my hubby has grey hair too, and I call him an older gentlemen!!! LOL ;D

Hah hah!! LOL ;D Yah, you didn't know about the web cams attatched to the coin slot?!!! LOL(http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m247/myhrdly/sticking-out-tongue2.gif)
What's a web cam ??? Is it from Crane?
 He made me do it
Its nice to go outside with my son, He gets over joyed when we go outside and he gets to sit in the bobcat. He doesnt do that with any other car just that one.. I love my kids =).
There are about 10 pinto's around where i live, a white trunk model with a big Horse painted on the back of the quarters, a few 79-80 wagons, and one or two pre 75 wagons. and if i can ever find the gy again a clean 71 with a 1.6 or a 2.0
Been trying to find him to buy the car and put it up here
There's a nice pre-75 black Pinto wagon I see parked near the local Einstein Bros. Bagel shop in Oceanside. It has the factory forged aluminum wheels and the black Pinto centers (like I'm getting). It's an automatic and I think it's an, ahem, older gentleman who drives it. I'm not crazy about black cars but this one I'd have in a heartbeat! lol.
Hey Pintogirl, did you see the Crusin Wagon for sale in your aera? It's on C/L check it out!
Ohh yeahh,
I saw that one yesterday. The yellow one parked behind a Corvair Monza Minivan. Looked a bit rough, but heck, that VIN might be a bit of value. If I hadn't blown my entire budget for my Pinto stuff on our 84 VW GTi , I'd be looking to bring one home. Then again, I might be forced to re-register my '72 and Pickle the Gti, just to save on Our "new" increased California Vehicle registration fee. If you live in CA ( Buy OLD  ) and screw these liberal nuts. My '01 Dakota may go to non-op too! A pre-70 pickup will do just fine too!
So much potential, so little incentive :drunk:

So it passed?? I havn't seen the news yet!
I have 7 cars and 5 m/c's currently registered and insured. 2 of these our 2001 and 02, so you you know those will cost alot to re register!!!!
I'll go check out the Wagon!!!
Kim
Ok, checked out the CL ad. Bad thing about that one is it is a smog car!! I like the 74 and down models, that way I don't have to worry about smog!!! I do like the cruisn' wagon though!!! ;D
Yeh Kim,
The Libs gave up the 12cents a gallon state sales tax, but insisted on the Increased Registration fees. Looks like the incentive to buy a Newer car in California is going to take another hit :read: UNLESS they get their Scrappage laws implemented. Or maybe even a Penalty (read carbon footprint) for the older cars in the Registration fees.
:drunk: So much stupidity, so little civic understanding, so little constitutional intelligence :hangover:

Guess I will be driving my Pinto all the time and non opping my PT Cruiser!!! LOL If they do something to penalize the older cars, I may have to just ride my m/c all rear round! :amazed: Either that or get a dealers license and just not register any of my 7 cars and 5 m/c's!!! LOL Wonder if that would get me out of having to smog my cars too??? :cheesy_n:
Kim
I love New Mexico! Not a whole lot of water, but a lot less red tape and fees and taxes. And nice weather, and no earthquakes. Outside Bernalillo county, smog tests aren't required. Inside Bernalillo county, cars 1975 and newer have to pass an anual inspection. There are never back fees to title and register a car that has been sitting. There is a $20 late penalty for registration if you still own the car, but it's waived if you sell the car. And it doesn't matter how late, 1 day or 15 years. It cost me $90 to register the Pinto for two years outside Bernalillo county, and insurance is $35 a month. Hopefully Bill Richardson won't muddle it up too bad for us!
Chuck :)
speaking of wagons..........there are 2 of them here where i live in so-cal both orange/wood paneled....one runs and is moved every couple of weeks or so....the other is sitting behind a garage covered in weeds
i've been talking to the owners of both of these on a 'low key' basis for a few months..........
just waiting to see who caves first!

didn't sound like it but it has not been driven on a regular basis for at least a few years. there's a high school reunion coming up (40years!) & maybe i can talk a bit more about with her.
