Title: What is the value??
Post by: hellfirejim on February 16, 2009, 08:47:28 AM
I need some help determining what is the value of these parts.  I have a 1975 with a 4 speed trans.  It looks like due to health concerns I may have to switch over to an auto trans.  This means I will have the following parts for sale when that occurs.

Bellhousing, flywheel, fairly new clutch, good 4 spd trans and that comes with the Hurst shifter.  Also the clutch cable would be included.

I am not out to make a killing just a fair price so I can figure out the budget. :read:

Thanks for all inputs.

If you are shipping it, I would ask for $50 + shipping. If picking up, $70. That may even be much, but it has been awhile since I last saw a 4spd up for sale.

for what its worth, i got 200 for that same set up.  hurst shifter and all.  i put it on flea-bay with a 200 reserve just to see if id get it.  sure enough, i did.  although i think it was too much.  you rarely see those hurst shifters though.

Considering it is everything from the flywheel to the tailshaft plus that hurst shifter, I don't think that $200 is out of line.  I guess it is like most things, how bad do you want it, is how much you will pay for it.

Fred: Thanks for the offer but I already some help on this end.  BTW: I am going to use a 4R70w trans. Still working out the details.....

It was on the car and as they say on e-bay a really rare deal anymore.  the more I think about this i think the price should $205 since the shifter is so "rare"...

I have one of those Hurst shifters on mine and they are much better then the stock shifter. It has a better mounting setup (they wont pull out of the trans when speed shifting) also it has a better reverse lockout and are spring loaded to to upshift direction (it pulls the shifter to the right). Its  worth the money if you can find one in my opinion.
