Well, here's a little thing I've picked up over the years for shipping large or bulky items like fenders: Greyhound. Shipping through bus companies like Greyhound is considerably cheaper than any of the traditional cargo carriers and they're waaaaay more careful with your packages. Now, they won't deliver 'em to your house, but hey...not a bad trade-off for cheaper and better.
Thanks, I check out the Greyhound site and talk about it later, for those interested.
Is Greyhound still in Omaha? I may have my own items to ship.
I've shipped and paid to have shipped to me enough small things that I can kind of estimate. If its smaller than fender-hood-bumper-door etc. USPS parcel post can be handy, I've used it for model cars, center consoles, radio plates, glove boxes, hot wheels cars, and such. for most of this stuff the s&h is usually between $5 and $8, with larger boxes being more, of course. I've shipped sill plates in tubes before too. It helps to know where (zip code) an item is going and how much it weighs, but dimensions of the box matters too.

a little information on greyhound for you all, If you ship through them and the package is large like a fender you could spend up to a month waiting for it. I Know this as i was Shipped Upper and lower seats for the rear of my bobcat. it took 3 and a half weeks to track the package down, and this is with me calling each greyhound along the Pre-chosen driving route the drivers take. They told the shipper that it would arrive in 3-7 days. That is not the case with large packages. Greyhound uses that space under the busses for Riding customers first, and if they have room after wards they will fit the packages they can onto that bus. If they cannot they will wait for the next bus heading to where ever you ship it too.
My 2 cents =D
I try and use greyhound for shipping all my large items. Sometime it does not work because of location as the receiver has to pick up the package from the depot. Fedex will ship fenders and hoods but the price vary's depending on what part of the US the package is going to. Greyhound is the same and ususally much cheaper. Greyhound is the only way to ship doors though. Fedex or UPS won't ship them due to the weight. I paid about $85 per door to ship to the east coast. The shipping time was about 10 days for the last set of doors I sold. I have used Greyhound for about 6 shipments in the last two years and have not had any problems with them.
