You should think about some CA cars. They go for nothing and I know some of the shipwrecks out there can't be fixed for the $1000 shipping bill. I just sent a '76 Capri to Maine for $1200.

and I have got this one:

70 1/2 Pinto, fist month of production. 2.0/auto/front drums. Has been off the road since 1978. No accidents, no rust, good glass... perfect restoration. $400 is what I paid to have it NOT get cut up. This car is complete minus grille. It is 100% unmollested. Does it run? No idea. If you dont want the motor and trans, $200 then.

I am also getting my hand on a running 72-73 wagon, green, been de-squired... thats about all i know. Under 100k miles. Im getting it this weekend.

Alberto

hey Pintolovr,

Good to hear we have another future Motor City Pinto owner.

You can find a real nice car right here in the midwest if you are patient searching.
Many of these midwest Pintos are estate cars that the children sell.   Watch Ebay regularly.
Find a low mileage, rust free midwest car that was garaged and not driven in any salt. The bonus is the interior will also be good.
Yes, do NOT buy any Pinto with rust!

Pay a little more now rather than a ton later restoring it.   You should be able to find something really nice in the $3000 - $4000 range.    I guarantee that it will be total lower cost than fixing up a $1000 fixer-upper.

I use my 73 as a daily beater through the rough & tumble freeways of Detroit everyday.   110 miles a day!

I do watch e-bay regularly. I own two Pintos that were both bought off e-bay. On this next one, the interior is not as important as a solid rust free body. I have a 2.0 with twin Dellarto carbs and a radical cam that I want to install in it and see if I can singlehandedly keep the tire companies in business.LOL
