Title: Pinto 4 speed tranny pops out of reverse

Hello,
I have a 4 speed pinto tranny that pops out of reverse during load.  Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

 I think a LOT of our 4 speeds do this. :o

There is no quick fix! It will need going into to fix. Sorry for the bad news.

It's doing it pretty bad.  Has anyone tried to fix this problem?  I am willing to give it a shot, just need some guidance on where to get started.  Someone mentioned to me a while back about putting in a heavy duty synchro and that could alleviate the problem.  Any comments on that?

 Once it starts its rebuild time. I use to hold the shifter in place with one hand while steering with the other........... :'(
