a few years ago (like in the 80's) there was a company who did a kit for the pinto v8 swap, they did mounts headers and a how to book . its been many years since i've seen mine and i'm looking for the part listing for the hears for the 302 swap. i like these and cant remember who made them they fit perfect in the 80 model without having to cut any of the inner fender wells. they snugged close to the motor and ran down near the frame rails no slit pipes . i still have a set in my other pinto but they are getting rusty if someone has or knows of them please help me i'm doing another and want the same headers. Thanks pintopaul

Are the headers the Hooker model 6160?
This past summer Postalpony had a set of headers for sale you could pm him and see if he still has them. Phil
From what I have read, these are made by hooker. Summit still sells the swap headers but I don't know if they are this kind. Maybe you can call and get more info, I do know they are about $450.00. :o
ITS NOT THAT STYLE IN THE PICTURE . THESE DONT GO ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME THEY RUN DOWN THE INSIDE ALONG SIDE THE MOTOR AND TRANNY.
I think you are talking about the Hedman Headers swap kit. They were long style and went down behind the cross frame. I beleive it was sold thru Ford dealerships in the 70s. That sure brings back memories.
if i remember correct it was an ad in car craft or hotrod back in the early 80s and yes it was a kit but i cant find the number or brand anyone have any old car craft or hotrods around that would be willing to look? any help would be great thanks paul
well i dont know if this helps but summit still sells the supercomp headers from hooker for this swap. 6161 is the part # for the 74-80 and 6160 is pre 74. i think they make these for a 429-460 swap too! just go to summit.com. thats where i got mine! but what someone needs to make is a set of bolt in motor mounts for a 302 swap! or a whole kit again would be awesome too huh?! :hypno:
