Title: 351C IN TO A PINTO NEED INFO

 HI

I AM GOING TO TRY TO BOILD A CAR FOR PINKS ALL OUT IN INDY.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE AND WHAT I NEED ALL HELP IS NEED.

ENGINE PLATE
351C
C6
8 INCH
STALL CONVEROR

NEED
HEADERS
BELTS
CAGE
SLICKS
LINE LOCK
SHIFT RACING

IF ANY LEADS OR WHAT I NEED TO DO PLEASE LET ME KNOW

what are the specs  on the 351 if its potant you will need a 9in rear.  headers will need to be coustom built unless you front half you car. my pinto runs in the low, mid 10,s

id think the 8 inch would be fine.  joe morgan went 10.75 with a detroit and stock axles.  9 inch spools can be machined down for use in an 8 inch housing.  if you go that route, you can go 31 or better spline with an aftermarket axle.  like noforkins implied, those cleveland based blocks are WIDE.   that may be a concern for the headers, and the whole front end for that matter.  comp engineering hase 8pt cages for 189.  price may have changed from the last i looked.  slicks....biggest you can fit.  26-10.5-15 fit with some massaging.  although, keep in mind, drag radials have recently hit high 6s in the quarter.

I HAVE A STOCK BOTTOM END WITH HOME GASKET MATCH PORTING JOB VALVE SPRINGS AND ROLLER ROCKERS. CROWER CAM IF I REMEMBER IT IS 563 LIFT.

I HAD THIS MOTOR AND TRANNY IN 68 COUGAR ABOUT 3300 LBS 9 INCH 4.56 28 SPLINE 28.5 TALL SLICKS TOCKER INTAKE 750 HOLLEY.
RAN 11.9 CLASS FASTEST WAS 11.5
JUST A GOOD BACK YARD MOTOR.

HEADMAN MAKES HEADER BUT $700 SANDERSON MAKES SOME SHORTY BUT NOT FOR A PINTO I WILL NEED TO GET MOROT IN THE CAR TO SEE IF THEY WILL CLEAR.

WOULD LIKE TO FIND SOME USED ONES

TRYING TO MAKE ABUGET BUILD

also the rad will need to be pushed foward a lot for fan clearance this will entail alot of cutting, also lateral limiters will be needed for the motor or it will twist up like a pretzel
