Title: Going to u-pull-it tomorrow
Post by: discolives78 on January 30, 2009, 08:44:17 PM
I'm planning a trip to the yard in the morning, there's a 77 wagon there, I'm getting the bumper (it has the rubber trim). There's also a 77 ford ltd, a few granada's, 79-92 mustangs, a few t-birds, and van's and trucks, so if you need any small easily pulled and shipped parts, let me know, and I'll keep my eye out.  I'll check back here in the morning before I go and respond back tomorrow night with finds.

Sounds like all wagons share the same maladies - mine has the >exact< same problems!

Phil, next month when I go work in Eastern Wa., I'll stop by a place that has 3 mavericks sitting in the row of cars they have. Maybe they have the stuff you need,

I'm looking for good condition taillight chrome, and a non-cracked driver's side taillight lens. If you run across at least a lens would you be able to grab it?

The last time I was there, there weren't any fastback pintos. There are a couple mavericks (4 doors) so I'll check. The trip has been postponed till tomorrow so I can take my brother's truck, so keep thinking!

4 door  perfect also tan would be excelent. how about the hanger hook in the back seat area above the window.  on a side note the tail lights are the same for a maverick and a pinto. just a thought for dave.
could you also ckeck on a hood molding  it is larger not heavy just long but mine is dented
thanks.

The early Pintos up to '76 had the same taillights, however in 77 they switched to a taller lens with the chrome surround, and in 79 they removed the chrome bezel and just had a plastic lens.

One thing I don't like about having a late model Pinto, body parts seem to be harder and harder to find as time goes on. :(

I am finding 77-78 taillight assemblies on eBay, but for $32 shipping for one in great shape, it is way outside my budget for them right now and I can't quite justify it yet. $64 to have both in great shape is just too much for me right now. I'm hoping to score a crack-less lens from a junk yard find and save myself a boatload of money until I repaint the car and replace them for a really nice set.
