I've got a Manx style dunebuggy that is currently running a 2.3 from a '75 Pinto. I am looking to upgrade and will be swapping it out for a 2.3 out of a 87 Thunderbird TC. I am concerned about the wiring with this swap as there is a 12 year difference as well as fuel injection, cat, and turbo on this new motor. I would like to eliminate as many of the emmisions sensors as possible especially any exhaust sensors after the cat as I am very limited as to what exhaust I use, due to the exposed rear engine mount. I know many people use these as race motors and I only assume they don't still use all the emmisions and cat stuff. I am just looking for any advice regarding what I can do with these sensors. Do I need a different ECU? Any advice about this swap would be greatly appreciated.
