While in the process of putting in my sub-frame connectors I also want to replace my carpet. I have seen lots of choices from Summit to JC Whitney to e-bay, starting at around 100 bucks to over 200. Kind of hard to tell if one brand is better than the other just by looking at a generic pic. The carpet in the car now came from JCW and has been in for over 10 years and has held up very well. However, it wasn't the greatest fit, it had a wrinkle on the pass side trans tunnel that would not work out.
So what are everyone's experience (and expertise) with carpet? Is more expensive better? Is one company's brand better than another? ???
Great question, I to would be very interested in some advice on carpet, i will need to buy some soon.
I have been wondering my self since my carpet is original & thinning in spots :lost:.(like my hair ;D) I'm interested in whats worth buying also.

Hmmm....guess no one has had to replace their original carpet. The local upholstery shop wants $500.00 to do the carpet, he says his carpet source has top quality carpet and guarantees a perfect fit. I just wonder if he doesn't just buy a $200.00 carpet (like I could), mark it up and the rest is labor. ???
Summit has carpet they want around 130. Found some on ebay to for 115.
Summit had about 3 different styles. Really don't know which way is the best.
Probably order it from summit before long at least if its junk i can send it back.
I purchased my carpet from 1AAuto via eBay and am happy with it! So far it is holding up VERY well as the floor covering in my daily driver 78 Sedan!
I fubar'd my carpet though. I somehow trimmed it to short on the driver's side and it didn't reach underneath the door sill. I think I went wrong somewhere when aligning the carpet and cutting holes for the shifter and ebrake.
My advise would be to center it in the car, secure it under the door sills, cut out where the center console floor brackets are, lift the door sills, then secure it again but this time with the carpet laying flat where the center console goes (since floor brackets won't be pushing the carpet up). After this, then cut your holes for the shifter and e-brake.
Removing the shifter and ebrake helps tremendously when cutting the holes, BTW.
I've tried to cover it up in the pictures I take of the car, but knowing that it isn't done correctly is just killing me. :(
Thanks for the info!!!
