I have a 1977 Pinto Panelwagon the engine let go (2.3) I have found another 2.3 out of a 1986 Ford Mustang the deal includes the overdrive transmission. My question is what exactly will I need to install this engine into my 1977 Panel. The engine is a carb engine. I would appreciate any help you might give.
thanks
Mike
IT IS A AUTOMATIC WITH OVERDRIVE===
The 77 has a new distributor on it will the spark box ignition work with it
One more question the automatic out of the 86 do you see any problems there as far as mating it to the 1977 pinto will the shifter be the same or will I have to use a after market one
FORGET IT THE GUY SOLD THE ENGINE BEFORE I COULD GET THERE
As for the engine you may have to use the '77 distributor unless you have the complete mustang and want to change the ignition system. Is the transmission manual or automatic?
