Title: Helpping out other members, a thrill ride!
Post by: dave1987 on January 16, 2009, 07:31:25 PM
Does anyone else get that great, amazing feeling when they go above and beyond to help out fellow members? I've got that feeling right now and I'm feeling extremely proud of being part of the PCCA, a group of friendly, considerate and amazing people who are bonded together by a little car made by Ford called the Pinto. ;D

I don't know that I've been any help to anyone, but I can vouch for the folks here who have helped me. The camaraderie is fantastic. It takes a special kind of person or people to love these great little cars.

As one who has helped, and one who has been helped I know what you mean.

Dave is to be commended, he is in fact helping me out a great deal behind the scenes on a much sought after part. Fred has also been invaluable as a part resource and a source of a few chickles. FRED: I have your NOS lens, I'll ship it next week!

Gone but not forgotten is the support of Pintony, Cookieboy, Starsky and Hutch, and Frank Canon. Without making a "scene" about it, this place is not the same without them. I wish it could have been different.

Thanks to guys like Dave and Fred who keep the spirit alive. Also thanks to Brian (apintonut) and the guy who sold me the roof rack parts (embarrased  :lost: I don't remember his name - 75BobcatV6). Thanks also to guys like Chuck (Discolives), Jim (jimspinto) and others who share comraderie. If I missed your name (and I'm sure I have), sorry - these are the guys that just quickly popped to mind.

I think that some of our previous members are highly responsible for the reason I have been so willing to do anything for other members lately.

I have seen that since some of the names that Chris mentioned had left, I have started to give more and more input to help out on as many subjects as I can. Perhaps it is me trying to carry on their kindness and keep the information flowing from those of us who were blessed enough to be around while they were active members.

Thanks CHad! It's hard enough remembering handles, and trying to remember the "matching name" is even tougher!!!!

I have been helped tremendously by this site in building my car.  Especially by the former members you mentioned.  I try to help members whenever I can and it is a good feeling when you give the right advice.
Not to open up a can of worms but it would be nice to have those members back.  I don't know the whole story, but the site isn't the same.  What can we do as a group to have the whole Pinto community be one.  It is just good for the future of the club. :welcome:
