Title: 79 power rack seal replacment
Post by: jbohls on January 13, 2009, 03:52:47 PM
the seal that is around the shaft that seering linkage hooks up is leaking. does anyone know if that se3al is replaceable and if so, where can I get one? it seems to me that this seal should come out and in similar to a real seal on a tranny. Does anyone know if there is a manual rack that easier to turn available frome someone like Flaming River? This rack is on a custom 48 ford pickup. thanks----my phone nmumber is 512-422-7223 if needed....thanks---jbohls

Yes the seal is replaceable but I doubt if you can find one. I used to have all of the special tools to rebuild the racks but that was long ago... :P  Flaming river does offer a manual rack, and I'm thinking they also had the power rack but not 100% sure.
