Title: question regarding kickdown linkage
Post by: r4pinto on September 12, 2004, 04:35:43 PM
Hey all,

I got a kickdown linkage for my 78 HB with the 2.3 and C3 and I can't seem to get it hooked up top correctly.

If this makes any difference it came off a Ford Ranger with the 2.3 1 bbl engine with the auto.... I'm not too sure what model tranny it was though, as the tranny was gone..

I have tried everything I can to get it hooked up so the tranny will shift, but I cannot get all the parts lined up so it will work.

Does anyone know what needs to go where in reference to the arm position on the part the linkage hooks up to near the carb?

Any pix anyone might be able to get of this could also help on this dilemma, if not a diagram of some sort? My book has no reference to this part, so I'm a little confused.

I finally found a diagram of the setup, and found I got to modify the bend in the linkage...

I've run out of time today, so I'm gonna work on it some more tomorrow.. I'll keep y'all updated.
