Title: Quick orientation question
Post by: popbumper on January 01, 2009, 06:41:09 PM
...about car part labeling, not other preferences  :o. Question is this - given an original Ford part number where it is numbered as left hand or right hand, which is left and which is right? Is it:

1) Left and right as though being seated in the car?
2) Left and right as though viewing the car by standing in front of it?

Or, would LH = driver side, or passenger side?

Maybe a very basic question, but I do not know. Thanks!

Chris

As far as part numbers go right or left can be determined by whether the last number is odd or even.  Try to check the numbers in the parts book.  Ford has a regular system for part numbers that started in the Model T days and the parts books decipher that numbering system for you.
