i was driving home from my mom's house when something cuaght my eye sitting in this guys front yard is a AWESOME!!!! condition pinto hatch so i whip the truck around and stop to ask about it. so heres the run down. its a 79 fullglass hatch, 2.3/c4, powersteering, no a/c, not 1 spot of rust i mean i looked for a good hour for rust could not find 1 spot, and get this only 12,226.6 original miles!!! it hasnt seen a road since 1982, in fact it still has the original tires! now my question is is it worth $1200?? i know for a fact i'm gonna pick it up but is it worth what i'm paying for it? this is NOT going to derbied!! EVER!!
from what your saying it would be worth the 1200.
I'd say that for $1200, you would pretty much be robbing the guy of such a good condition, very low mileage Pinto! Go for it before someone else does!
I think it's probably safe to say you have found the bargain of a lifetime! Enjoy!
Dwayne
Congratulations on your find. I don't wanna be a party-pooper but it begs the question: why did it sit for 26 years?
Oh to find such bargains. If you don't have it yet, what's keeping you?
Chris
ok it sounds like i found a good deal.. :) The guy said he inheriated the car in 81 when his grandma passed away, he drove it for a year then parked it because he didnt want it anymore, but he didnt want to get rid of it in case he needed a back up car, well there is sat til about 3 months ago when he moved it out of the garage to park his ford feistiva in there ::) at first he didnt want to sell it but then i mentioned this club and he opened up, so he said well, i tell you what, i'll sell it to you for $1200, just because i know you will take care of it.. so thats that story.. but on a sad note i may not beable to keep it... with a recent run of bad luck i've fallen on very hard times so it might get sold... :( hopefully it will work out though... thanks for all the comments..
I didn't mean to be a doubting thomasina! I just thought it curious why it would sit for so long. At least it was in a garage! So the interior-exterior is probably in great shape. Just for that it would be worth $1200. I say if you can, go for it. I hear you on financial hardships. I hope you'll find a way. :)
Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
Even though we would love to get this Pinto from you for a song, we could pull together to help you.
I am sure you can sell this car for a large premium over your purchase price.
Post a picture. We can help you estimate the sell price.
You can then place it on Ebay with a proper reserve price.
Hope things get better, Rene
well for right now the car isnt going to go.. i have a few other cars i can sell off before i get to this one, so hopefully everything gets better before it reaches this one. i'll get pictures of it as soon as i can, i think with a good waxing and detail job this car is show car quality. i could not find one defect on the car. no scatches, dings, dents, nothing. the engine compartment is clean as clean as clean can get. you can still see the paint on the engine and the inside.. i just cant say enough about it.. i'm sorry. :) ;D
i just cant say enough about it.. i'm sorry. :) ;D
