Title: Pinto Help!
Post by: SwansonAS on December 26, 2008, 01:16:47 PM
hey gang, im working on a 74 pinto with 2.0L engine, and have recently had the carb. (motorcraft carb) remanufactured on it, but have a question about one of the lines that goes to the carb.there is a nipple for a line of some sort (looks like a big vacuum line) right behind the fuel liine input for the carb. i never remember taking this line off the carb, and have the carb all tuned in, and no left over hoses!
i have a photo of the carb that should be attatched.
the blue dot indicates the line in question. the red dot is the fuel line into carb.
if anyone knows what is supposed to be hooked in at the blue dot, please let me know.
thanks in advanace,
Charles

Could be a vacum hook-up for power-assist breaks. Just cap it off if your car's running good.

On the stinkbug (also a 74 2.0) the line goes into a rectange shaped box with a daiphram on it. the other side of the box goes to the choke on the carb This box is threaded into the exhaust manifold  hope this helps
