Who here has done an AOD transmission change out? Checking in previous posts, there are conflicting statements on the difficulty of this install, so I am ins earch of the truth. Does anyone have any pictures or details. Please reply only if you have the information. Thank You.

This is for a 302 Pinto, I just want to know if anyone has accomplished this. The reason is obvious, better highway mileage with the .67 overdrive gear. if this hasn't been done, I may go with a gear vendors, but that is more than I want to spend. :read: Thanks.
i I am working on this install with a 3.8, if you use the 2.3l left side Long mounts as a friend did with his 77 CW and 302 combo you might get the clearance you need. i do say might.
I have a '79 pinto with a 302 with the AOD. It does fit but the front end has been extended out by 4 or 5 inches. I'm not sure if the drive shaft is the original or if you have to find a shorter one. So, just in case you're wondering, it does fit.
I have a 302/AOD installed in my 76 wagon. Had to customize the tranny mount, but it's in. The drive shaft I'm using was also used when I had a C4, it fit right in.
