Clumsy me lost the key to my 1973 Ford pinto wagon, where can I get another one!? Hopefully I don't have to call a locksmith ;(
The previous owner of my 73 HB did the same thing. He ended up taking out a door lock and taking it to a lock smith to have a key made. It was cheaper than having the lock smith come to him. The key worked in the ignition as well.
hmm i guess i can always get estimates, inless i can find someone with a similar car to make me a copy of their key?!

That won't do you any good if the key does not match the lock. I agree with Tigger.. Just take a lock to the locksmith & have them make a key. It WILL fit the ignition & doors unless either has been changed before.
sounds easy enough.
I lost my key too. I called the lock smith today it was 25 dollars to have the key made. but he told me he had to have the ingnition lock too because it has more pins then the door lock. Oreillys has the ingnition lock for 10.99 and door locks for about the same. Even cheaper with my discount so I'm just changing the locks
the key code is stamped on the drivers door lock assembly.

key code?!
If the key code# is stamped on the door lock cylinder.
A locksmith or a Ford dealer can cut a key with the number.
