Does any one know what the front coil spring rate is on the 74 mustang II V8. I am thinking 375 lbs. I need to get some springs for my ride that will hold up the 302. Do you recommend maybe going up to 400 or 425lbs to help the handling
I'M NOT SURE WHAT WEIGHT RATING THEY HAVE,HOWEVER,I USED NEW V6 PINTO WAGON SPRINGS IN MY 80 AND SITS NICELY W/302 IN IT.CHECK MY PICS TO SEE.I ALSO HAVE 15" WHEELS AND TIRES ON FRONT.THANKS TOMMYS
The ones I put in my V8 Pinto were new ones that I was told were for a "Mustang II V8", but I had no way to verify that. I did measure and compair them to the stock springs, and they were beefier. I put them in but the car sat too high due to MII's being heavier. I cut 3/4 of a coil off (that made them easy to work with), but I should have taken about a full coil off, maybe a little more. I left them in figuring it would settle a little, but it did not.

Tommy, Bill thanks for the input this V8 pinto is all new to me.
When I put the V8 in my '71 I used V6 springs and cut out one full coil, my car is lowered 2" so if you are going for stock ride height it should be real close with the full coil.
