Autoweek Magazine has contacted me to help them find a good first generation Pinto to feature in a segment of their magazine called Escape Roads. In all the years they have published, they have never featured a Pinto. They are looking for a car in the Washington DC/Baltimore/Northern Virginia area. If you're interested and relatively close to that area, send me your contact info and I will pass it along to them. My only suggestion is to hurry...this sounds like quite an honor and if we could get someone from the Pinto website into Autoweek that would be great.
Ummm....they had one Pinto feature......if you read down to about 3 segments (articles) ;D
***The comment under the story is interesting as well...

yeah, but i doubt that even in the magazine they had pics of the car. or cars. Not a lot of people do pieces on Pintos/bobcats.
Are they looking for stock or modified Pintos? I'll assume they want a stock one?
I have been a subscriber to Autoweek for many years and have enjoyed the "Escape Roads" feature. Anyone who has a cherry Pinto should be encouraged to submit their car. That would indeed be a great honor and a real boost to our obscure hobby.
Tercin
I'm assuming it would be a stock Pinto. I only say they have never featured a Pinto because that is what they told me when they contacted me, of course they've been around a while and they could have overlooked something. It's also possible that what they consider a feature for the Escape Roads isn't the equivalent of something else they've done in the past.
Update on Autoweek ....they have contacted me again and are willing to go into Pennsylvania (eastern) to find a car. They also have requested a hatchback or trunk model; the first contact I sent them was for a wagon that looked really good. They may still opt for the wagon (I encouraged them to at least take a look) but if anyone has a hatchback or trunk model in the vicinity, please contact me. For that matter, if you're willing to drive your car to see them and you're relatively close, contact me. Any way we can get one of our cars in is as good as another...
Flyer sent you a pm
I live in eastern Pa. I have a 73 hatchback. May not appear stock but it is! Would this be O.K.?
I sent a message to the folks telling them where folks are and I'm waiting to hear back from them. Soon as I get a response, I'll let everyone know. Thanks a bunch.
They are looking for as stock as possible. Wheels and tires aren't an issue but major body and engine modifications would most likely rule a car out. I've forwarded some info to the folks there and I'm waiting to hear back again. Thanks guys, and have a good Thanksgiving.
Flyer,
PM'ed you, also took the liberty of contacting them directly. Left a voice mail so that may get back to me if they'd might be able to get up into my neck of the woods. (Bflo,NY) Keep us posted!
