need to know how to go about installing the dipstick tube and oil pan demisted? i have tried everything from freeing them to heat, after installing them and waiting a while you can pull them right out , they fit very loose. what is the trick. don't need any oil leaks on a new motor rebuild. thank you
I guess I am having a hard time understanding exactly what you want to do. Can you please rephrase the question?
need to install the dipstick tube and crankcase demister that goes to the pcv valve, everytime i stall them they are very loose. and they come back out without any effort.. they dont seem to be seating deep enought into the block. i was thinking that a oring went on them but they is not a groove for an o ring. they were tight when they reoved for the chenical wash of the block.
My canister and dipstick tube were the same way when I rebuilt my engine, too.
I just used some high temp RTV gasket maker around the mating surfaces and then pressed them into the block, making sure none of the gasket maker was in the orifice.
