My CW was originally silver with the graphics package, 2.3L, 4-speed, power-steering & brakes, full sports package (were they all?) and AM radio.
Parked in '87, (passed emissions testing in '89 though) and purchased by me in '07. Sat in a field most of those 20 years. Apparently has 39000 miles on it.
Previous owner lowered it 3" (?4"?), had the bumper brackets shortened and the bumpers painted black (ugh!) but never installed them. It has 6" & 8" Ansen wheels with fat tires.
I immediately did all the usual things (plus a few more) to bring back a field car:
1. Replaced all rubber fuel lines.
2. Replaced fuel pump (new).
3. Replaced carburetor (rebuilt).
4. Installed new fuel and air filters.
5. Installed new belts.
6. Had gas tank cleaned & repaired by Mac's Radiator.
7. Replaced brake hoses, front & rear (new)
8. Replaced front disc brake calipers & pads (new)
9. Replaced rear wheel cylinders (new).
10. Replaced coil (new).
11. Replaced ignition box (new).
12. Dismounted tires, had rusty wheels sandblasted & powder-coated black, remounted & balanced tires.
13. Sanded & primed much of the body - needs more.
14. Installed rear bumper (temporarily with two bolts only!). The front bumper is stored in the Pinto.
15. Installed new radiator hoses.
16. Installed new thermostat.
17. Installed new spark plug wires.
18. Installed distributor cap & rotor.
19. Installed new gas cap.
20. Installed new wiper blades.
21. Installed new flexible air intake tube.
Ran but not well. A rebuilt distributor helped a bunch and figuring out all of the vacuum lines did as well. Still have some minor problems that I'll have to work out before it will pass emissions (the Peoples' Republic of Portland requires bi-annual testing of all vehicles '74 and newer).

Plans are to get it running well (enough to pass emissions testing), clean up the body some more especially the roof which will be smoothed. Down the road perhaps a 2.3T/5spd.

Nice find!! If you don't like the black painted bumpers you could probably use paint stripper on them to get them back to normal. It shouldn't hurt them any, but if anyone knows for sure please correct me.
Are you going to raise it back up or leave it lowered?
Great another Oregonian! How long have you owned the car? I saw it for sale along with another rolling shell a year or so ago? BTW, nice looking car.
Me likey.....
Bill
looks good lowered like that. got a nice Stance to it. =)
r4pinto: yep, I'll strip the paint off of the bumpers. And I'll keep it lowered, but perhaps not quite as much.
TIGGER: I had it on Craig's early last spring (?). You or someone else local suggested that I bring it the local get-together going down about then. Did you advertise parts on CL for a while? If so, we exchanged a few emails, although no parts were bought (or sold ;D )
Thanks for the other comments.

I think you are right. I have a 1985 Dodge Omni GLH Turbo that is silver & the paint looks just as bad as the two pictured cw's. There's gotta be something to that. .
My guess on the paint issue would be that the metallic flake in the silver, along with the catalysts they used back then didn't mix together very well, giving the paint no way to bond to the primer/galvanized steel.
Sounds about right.... :P
