Title: Question about flexplate bolt.
Post by: r4pinto on October 25, 2008, 02:25:02 PM
Hey guys,

after a few months not even thinking of working on my cars I have started to get ready to mount the tranny back in my car. Anyways, when I was cleaning the bolts I noticed I am missing a bolt for the flexplate to the crankshaft. My question is am I able to just match the threads to the bolt and use a grade 8 bolt or should I get another flexplate bolt?

Just want to make sure before I reassemble the flexplate with a different bolt than the other 5.

Shouldn't be a problem replacing it with a grade 8...might want to use treadlock also.

Cool that works for me then!

I got a tube of loctite I planned on using on the original bolts anyways. Figure better to be safe than sorry. :fastcar:

No luck. I went to three different hardware stores & none had the thread pitch required for the bolt.

Go to a Motorcycle shop...they'll have it. (metric)
