Title: Thunderfest and Bluesapalooza!
Post by: Pintopower on October 21, 2008, 03:02:37 PM
Hi all!

I wanted to send some shots of Thunderfest from last weekend! It is a hotrod show and Blues Festival in historic downtown Covina, CA. The show was from 10AM until 8 PM. I have never seen so many people at a car show in my life! We were the only pintos there and let me tell you, we were a hit! Thomas' 72 Pinto had a mob around it all day and my Pangra was causing a stir! We had a great time! We both feel it was the BEST show we have ever been to! Enjoy the pics!

That is one sleek blue Pinto! I love how fresh the paint looks! Is it factory paint?

Thank you all! It was an amazing show!

turbopinto72 - Any time!

Discolives78 - Thank you! That pangra was a pain in my butt to build

Dave1987 - The car is originally baby blue BUT he painted it the color from ford in 1983. It has less grey in it and makes it brighter. I am trying to convince him to paint his 74 wagon pink....with little luck.

Original 74 - Thomas actually has a FP.com shirt. However, he got a medium one and it shrank when he washed it. Now it is skin tight and looks like a mini-tee! LOL! I tell you it is funny as hell! I do all I can to support the site! I don't think there is a show I have been to where I have not worn my FP.com shirt. IN FACT, here I am in Germany at a car show with the Fiat Ritmo club sporting my fordpinto.com shirt!

Hey! My fordpinto.com shirt my be skin tight on me, but I look damn good in it. But seriously, I need to get a larger one. RacerX was giving me googlie eyes the last time he saw me in it! LOL!  It was a great show. Maybe next year "Jade" can make an appearance.... I don't suggest you drive it here. That might be bad!

Thomas,

Nice to see you on the site....Lovepants? LOL. Must have been a dare from Alberto!

I am looking forward to my next road trip. I would love to get Jade out to the west coast. I am being pretty anal about the miles I put on her. Just turned ove 430.

Keep the Pinto flame burning guys!

No Dave, I did NOT dare thomas to use the name LovePants. For once, that was his idea,  Ask him some time where it came from!

As for Jade, the 1 mile I put on her was one I will never forget. Now I can saw I drove a new Pinto!

Do German Fiat owners know what a Ford Pinto is?

dholvrsn,
Europeans as a whole know what the Ford Pinto is. Anyone that went to college studied that Ford Pinto case, as I did (and gave the greatest prestentation on the car ever!), and knows all about it. There are many pintos in europe as in the 70's any one in the armed forces from the US was allowed free transport of their automobile to europe. But, since the grass is always greener elsewhere, most sold their cars there as they were worth more overseas. That is how so many US cars ended up over there. I had several people stop me and tell me about the cars. Very neat. Sadly, I did not see any. They are super rare but they are around. No drivers, just restored show queens.
