I finally got the Turbo Toy Pinto put back together with all the mods and put it on the dyno for final tuning this past weekend. I was pleasently surprised to say the least. I wanted to keep a conservative tune, so I wouldn't be killing a lot of parts and at the same time have a strong running car. I hate compromises, but I hate blowing up motors even more. With the Pinto on the dyno ( BRE Motorsports, Concord NC. ) and Wes Kiser on the lap top doing the tuning, it put down 420 HP to the rear wheels. The best part of this, is that it's running on 92 octane pump gas, 22* of timing and only 25# of boost. That is a very safe, conservative tune and I can run pump gas from any station in the country for daily driving and my occasional trips to the track. We feel that on good racing gas (C16), around 28* timing and 32 to 35# of boost, she should be good for 500 plus HP. Not too shabby for a daily driver. It feels great to have it back on the road and driving it every day again.

Kool!
But can you get more than 25-30 mile range out of a tank of fuel or do you have to trailer behind your diesel to the track?
Geezzzz, give it a break.................
I don't know why I even bother with these things anymore, except that I can't get hot rodding out of my blood. This Pinto is my last go round and has actually been in the planning stage for over 25 years. I plan to drive it for a few years and give it to Curtis Jr, so he can enjoy it with his sons. It will never leave our family. Besides, it's just plain ole FUN.
on the road again! i just cant wait for mine to be on the road again! i gave up the idea of any performance and just want to drive my car again. (glade i bout one for the wife ;) ) but dam 500 hp i would be way happy with 350hp. do u know what ur 1/4 time is yet?
500 hp! 350 hp! I'd be happy with 100 hp! Very nice car, I like the yellow paint and "square" front end. Drive it like you stole it!

I just thought it was funny when you said "Only 25 LBS Boost" ..... :amazed: Good times.

Really, 25# is quite tame. With a good tune and a few mods, 35# is no problem. These little motors have an almost bullet proof bottom end and a real good block. You can beat on them pretty hard.
