Title: Odometer question
Post by: dave1987 on October 15, 2008, 03:05:11 AM
How do you go about changing the reading on an odometer?

I pulled a speedometer from the bobcat I've been parting out at a local yard and I was thinking that I could use it to replace my existing one if it ever fails.

Now if my original one were to fail, how would I go about matching up mileage on the replacement?

It is illegal to undo your speedo cable, take off the nylon gear and spin the speedo shaft with a drill. WINK WINK... :police:

If you are careful, you should be able to disassemble the odometer unit and just swap the mileage display.
