I know for many of you it may be along haul  , so why not make it a vacation  off the top of my head
Hershey PA  30 min away
    Amusement park
     Chocolate Factory
    Antique Car Museum
    Nice  Camp Ground
Gettysburg PA  20 Min away
    many scenic Battelfields Sometimes with reenactments of Civil War / War between the States
Indian Echo Cave  between Carlisle and Hershey
Harrisburgh PA  20 Min
  The PA state Capital

In addition to the battlefields, Gettysburg offers some wonderful museums as well - I have been to the Civil War Museum and the Hall of Presidents.  Quite interesting!

I think that sounds like a blast. I never get a hotel room less than 30 minutes from Carlisle anyways so I'm all for it.

The Hershey AACA antique car museum is a new state of the art facility that has in addition to antique cars, a motorcycle display as well as antique bus's and is a must see .  Also the Mack truck museum is in Harrisburg and not too far from Carlisle.

I am willing to do research into the tours of Gettysburg as I have friends down here in reenactment clubs. There may even be a ghost walk at  Seminary Ridge.(Where Gen. Pickett lost 1/2 of his troops)

The people that do the Ghost Walk finally contacted me. They are willing to talk about a special Gettysburg tour for the club during our time at the 2011 show. They know it is a long time off but are willing to work with us. I am planning to go to the 2010 show and meet with them to set a plan in stone.
I am just wondering, how many of yall would be interested in the tour??

I have never been to the show but I have done the sites there when I was younger and I would LOVE to go back for the show and sights. COUNT ME IN!!
