Title: 1980 CruisingWagon Project
Post by: PintoDriver on October 12, 2008, 12:04:50 PM
OK, Here's a picture of my new project on the day I got her...

It has been sitting in a field for the last 18 years, and today I got it to start for the first time.

Runs great! Will be a slow restore, but I'll keep everyone updated with new pics and my progress.....

That'[s one of the major strengths of these little cars. They "resurrect" well - the engines, unless severely "beat on" in a previous life respond well to fresh oil, gas, fluids, and a fresh battery. Have fun - I love the cruising wagons!! Great find!!

Thanks for all the support!

Today I got just a little more done to my car. Tuned it up, put on a grille, and put a steering wheel on (now I can turn it!). I banged out a few of the dents, and put some of the covers back on the motor (..valve cover, timing belt cover, etc..) and it's actually starting to look like a car again. Sorry, no pics today, can't seem to find my camera  :nocool:

Maybe I can do some more work tomorrow, but I am waiting for parts, and I am still trying to get a set of keys made for it. Might just have to dive right in and start cleaning out the interior in the morning...just thinking about that makes me
