Title: Door locks with alarms
Post by: dave1987 on October 12, 2008, 12:47:11 AM
I was going through my Haynes shop manual today and noticed that in the electrical system section (section 10, page 223), that there are instructions for servicing the "Anti-theft alarm system".

Apparently the arming device of the alarm system is part of the door lock cylinders, which is mounted to the back of them.

Has anyone ever seen this system on a Pinto or Bobcat before?

If it could be adapted to work on the Pinto from another vehicle, I would be interested in hearing which vehicles are interchangeable!

actually that is the disarming device. you arm the alarm with the power locks or remote, disarm with the remote or by unlocking the door with the key. never seen a factory alarm system on a pinto
