There is a Mekur in the local yard I visit (Jalopy Jungle) in Nampa Idaho. It is complete other than the glove box which someone else took, and the center console which I removed.
I would personally like to take the complete turbo motor off their hands, as they are only charging $180 for it, but that would require a whole drive-train rebuild including the rear, tranny, drive shaft and a rewire of the car for the ECM.
If anyone is in need of a 2.3 turbo parts, it was all still there yesterday afternoon and looks pretty clean!
Just a heads up to those turbo folks here. :)
There's a 99% chance the head is trash and the turbo about the same..
Your buying a short block and hope there's no water damage from a blown head gasket or cracked head.
I have 1 on the engine stand from a Free Merkur #3 hole had a cracked head and a little water damage from wet rings setting in the same spot to long.
If it's in a Junk yard expect the above..
Yeah. I was just dreaming, and the price of the conversion is too steep for me.
the engine harness is as close to a stand alone harness as you will find. its also the most sought after for the swap. so think a little harder if youre considering the swap.
I have a friend in town that has two harnesses and will probably part out the car the salvage yard as well. He specializes in 2.3 turbo installation and customization and modify's intakes for better performance. I think I may just hold off on the Turbo idea and go to him if/when I decide to follow through with it.
how much for the harness and computer and how much for shipping to 98051 and uninstall
I will call tomorrow and see. There is no guarantee that it is still there though. I will do what I can though!
PM me with your phone number again and I will call you while I am at the yard to let you know!
Any of the 1984 & Up Mustang & Capri EFI w/ VAM have a simple harness....
Mike
The car is still in one piece, I pulled the gauge lighting bulbs for dholvrsn's custom gauge cluster he's been working on. I'm just awaiting a reply if he wants them or not.
They want $23 for the computer and $20 for the entire harness. Whomever speaks up first gets it. I will need to recieve payment before I can go and get it though, as I am nearly broke.
Automatic or standard? If standard, T5 or T9?
It's an auto.
I would like the harness.
I will PM you.

yah i would like the harness too. thats would be why i asked about it.
I only saw his post about 'whoever was first', I guess that was you. Hey if you change your mind......
Bill
Since you've already pulled the bulbs, I'll be gracious enough to pay for them if you'll be gracious enough not to gouge me.
Alrighty, looks like plans on the electronics have changed a bit.
I was able to pull the computer today while out in the yard with my dad. The harness however is going to have to wait.
The harness is very complicated and I don't know where to start as far as removing it goes. It could take an entire day to remove it, and being a wire monkey isn't my most favorite job.
So, If apintonut still wants just the computer, please PM me. Otherwise it is still up for dibs on someone else.
I am posting this because the arrangment was originally for both the harness and the computer, but with all of the rain and snow storms around here right now, it is going to be extremely difficult to get under the dash and in the engine compartment to follow wires around and cut things.
well as im going to need bill help with my turbo pinto and i have a 84t/c and 85 svo harness to work with he can have at it
bill just keep this in mind when im asking "dumb questions"
No replies on the computer so far, so it's sold to whom ever PMs me first.
pm bill but it looks as he hasent been on for a day or so
