Title: Sport or Rally gauge set?
Post by: perce111 on August 23, 2004, 12:04:09 AM
Hi Guys.....new here
Did the 1979 Pinto have a sport or rally gauge cluster....one that included a tach?
I know that over the years they offered the extra three gauges, oil-water-amps, and some of the early years  had the tach option.
Or if they didn't offer it in the 79/80 models will the early gauge cluster fit?

Thanx for the help

Unless I am mistaken there was a Ralley option for 79-80 Pintos... Also unless I am mistaken the Ralley had a different dash setup, that was shaped like the earlier Pinto's unlike the squared off dashes of 79-80 models.

What you might want to do is go the the post by Pintoman titled MY PINTO

In '79/'80, the Sports Gauge package was available as an option and came standard on some packages, such as the Cruising Wagon. r4pinto was correct. The '78 and earlier style dash pad was used with the Sports Gauge package. It's a fairly easy swap to do, but try to get the plugs and pigtails for the cluster and gauge panel when you find them. It will make your life much easier!!
