does any one know who sells a new vacuum advance?

Standard ignition products has a large assortment of vacuum advance units, and they look like the factory units. Check the manifold vacuum at the speed you cruise at most of the time, and do this on a fairley flat road. This way you will be able to make a better decision witch one will work for you. Thees units are adjustable like the factory ones.

I would try to find a dealer near you that will give you a copy of the page out of the Standard catalog, you might find one that will give you the amount of advance that will give you the best fuel economy. I will PM you with my cell#.
i thinkk i am just gonna buy the whole distributer set up since it is only sixty.
but what you be better a single or dual advance?

While I have not seen alot of re-manufactured distributors the ones that I have seen in person did not have new vacuum advances. Thy probably work however thy may not work for very long, and you may be right back to the same place you are now. As far as single or duel types it would depend on how origanal you want your engine to look. The duel type will retard the timing under certain operating condishons be careful where thy are plugged into.
