There is a Maverick still in tact at the regular pick-n-pull I go to, red with black interior.
If anyone in the boise/nampa/caldwell of Idaho areas is interested, I would get to it soon before it is parted out! The yard is Jalopy Jungle on Garrity Blvd.
I'm going to the yard tomorrow to get some door switches off the 78 bobcat I have been parting out and looking for some floor mats. If anyone needs anything, let me know before 10:30 AM GMT mountain time and I can get it for ya!
What year? Is it a Grabber? I could let the Maverick site know.
Thanks...
i like the early mavericks. they have/had a really clean, smooth , flowing set of lines to them.
i used to go at it with a '72 (i think) at irwindale raceway back then. it was a blast. i think a lady was the driver ( not sure) it was a really neat rivalry. i had a header , a bit if home-grown cylinder head porting, and the standard re-jetting and the maverick had a 302 (?) with duals .
(it never beat me to the finish line!---but...it was close!)
I don't recall the year or if it is a grabber or not. I do remember it having a very large dash and a front bench seat. headlight and wiper switches in a vertical pattern instead of horizontal like the pintos.
I own one and it's a blast. I love not so common Fords. It's fun being just a little different. Gets lots of attention too.

You just described the features of all 7 model years ;D
Seriously, the "Grabber" nameplate was similar to the Pinto Stallion or Sprint. It was nothing that indicated higher horsepower or features, but was more of an appearance package than anything. Grabbers usually had a different hood with faux intake ports and paint treatment, stripes on the sides of the car, and a Grabber emblem.
