Title: Transmission
Post by: 78squirewagon on September 25, 2008, 12:08:20 PM
I know that this may sound like a silly question but are all of the automatic transmissions in 2.3L cars C-4's.  I am giving a friend one out of 77 wagon with a 2.3 and want to make sure it's a C-4

Thanks

Mark

Based on what I have read, the C-4 & 2.3L combination supposedly only came in some of the 1974 models.  As always I have heard of quite a few exceptions to this.

To make sure, count the number of bolts holding the pan on.  The C-3 has 13 bolts while the C-4 pan has 11 bolts.

THANKS. Looks like the car is going to the scrapper with the transmission because I have no need for it LOL!!!!

If the Pinto is going to the wrecker anyway, would it be too rude of me to high-jack this thread and ask about the roof rack or under-dash console?

If you were the one that has already asked, then it's yours. Just make me an offer. I need to look at the other post to see who wanted what. It is an A/C console though

Kind of need a non-AC one.

Well, how about the roof rack?
