In the 2.3 turbo swap, how is the cooling line dropping from the turbo to the block usually routed or rerouted?
At least on the '88 from a T/C with the big IHI turbo it comes out of the turbo towards the block, right angles (90 degrees) across the top of the exhaust manifold (paralleling the turbo to exhaust connection) and then makes a downward 90 degree turn down the back side of the turbo/exhaust manifold connection.
After it clears the bottom of the turbo/exhaust manifold connection it angles back slightly under it and finally makes a rounded 90 degree-ish turn towards the block where a short rubber hose connects it to the block. The block connection point is a few inches back of the turbo oil drainback.
I hope you can visualize that.
