I thought my neutral start switch was bad since the motor won't turn over using th key, but last night I discovered that my reverse lights actually work. So now I need to be able to trace the wires to see where the signal from the starter switch is getting lost on the way to the starter relay.
Anybody have a wiring diagram for a 71 Sedan that they would be willing to scan and post or e-mail to me? Thanks.
I may be completely off base, but I thought the N.S. switch and the backup light switch were two seperate switches?
Doug youre right they are seperate. Reed I have 74 up, start wire at selenoid is red with light blue tracer. My 74 drawing shows start wire at switch is still R/LTBLU . Switch is located top of colum inside lower colum area. Unplug and do ohm check or what ever youre using to out side selenoid wire. I dont know how to scan post or e-mail drawing, can copy and put in mail you know the old way with a stamp. If wire checks good then you need to buy 1 of my switches. Fred :D :)
Thanks Fred! For some reason I thought the backup switch and neutral start switch were the same on these cars. I also havethe red with blue tracer wire going to the starter relay, so it is probably the same. I will check the ignition switch output and see what's what.
